Lineage Zero seems to be dying, similar to the worst knight on the server, Police. It was a decent server, no doubt, but the biggest thing it had going for it was population and PvP. With the release of Diablo3 and some strange server political changes and a BS economy the population and PvP have taken a heavy decline. Needless to say, I began logging into the server less and less.
And then a good friend told me about Flower Server.

It runs on the same base download as Lineage Zero. Meaning you can just copy your Lineage Zero folder and title it Flower Server or something. Add the few downloads from the Flower Server website, add the connector to the folder, and BAM! You are a Flower!
I have only been on the server for a few days, but it is really fun. Similar to Zero the grind from 1-75 is not too bad, but after 75 leveling is not similar to Zero. It definitely slows down, but not the way Zero slows down.
I would rather grind my face on sand paper and then dip the wounds in salt than level on Zero...this is probably why I never leveled. Flower server slows down, but you still feel accomplished after a session of grinding having made a good sum of money and a small handful of experience.
The level bonuses on Flower are different too. And unlike Zero, small level differences matter on Flower. On Flower a level 76 can get stunned or erased by a level 75, but it is going to be rare...this is way different than a level 65 on Zero showing up to erase everything that moves...and don't tell me it doesn't happen because I had a sub 70 elf on Zero that I could spam erase and land on most people relatively easily. A few exceptions to the 80+ kids.
I know what you are thinking. Doesn't this make it hard to compete with the hardcore grinders if a single level can be a big advantage...let alone if they grind 5+ levels ahead of you? The people that are grinding levels definitely have an advantage, but the level gaps are very small. 75 is not hard to hit, and the highest level right now just hit level 78. The level 78 is obviously going to do better in a fight if he knows how to play the class, but even a casual player can be competitive. This works because of the slightly tweaked leveling system on Flower. The highest level player on Flower will level at a "normal" rate. Lower level players will level at a "bonus" rate. The lower your level the higher the bonus. The hardcore players will always have a bit of advantage on level, but even a casual player will always be able to stay within a few levels.
Some people might complain about this, and on a live server I would agree. On a private server however, this keeps things interesting by leveling the playing field. No one will ever "run away" from the masses by leveling their face off and then ruin PvP with their dominance. It will come down to strategy, team work, and actual class skill (some advantages to the kids that are maxing their levels too..but much more limited than other servers) and not who donates the most or who has no job lol.
The population is pretty good too! 150+ on most times except right after resets, and more coming all the time! Lets all play a fun server!
Let the fun begin! Neighbor on Flower v.v
Giran siege every night. They are pretty lively too. From this screen shot it looks like CM is a problem again, but from what I have seen it is a lot more limited due to scroll drop rates...maybe I am just hunting the wrong spots? Most the CM animations are coming from elves and mages, which just cast the spell on themselves. I was seeing tons of knights getting cancelled and erase/destroyed without being able to spam CM....hooray!The classes seem very well balanced here so far as well.
I will keep you updated on my progress and anything else I figure out about this server.
Feel free to join me on Flower and make sure to tell the GM that Neighbor sent you^^.
